In these Pakoras or Fritters, I have used Rice Flour with Onions and Potatoes. So basically these are deep fried Chawal ke Pakore with a few spices that are common to any pantry in an Indian kitchen. Absolutely easy to make, these make for a perfect 4 pm Snack at tea-time. Potatoes are very thinly cut as done for French fries. Thinly sliced Onions with Potato Fries and a few spices are what it takes for these mouthwatering scrumptious Pakoras. Try this for your families the next time you all have a great family time together with your loved ones by your side.

Ingredients

30-35 minutes
5-6 servings
  1. 1 1/2 cupsRice Flour
  2. 1 tspSalt or to taste
  3. 2Onions thinly sliced
  4. 2Potatoes thinly cut
  5. 1 tspCumin powder
  6. 1 tspGinger garlic paste
  7. 1 tbspRed chilli powder
  8. 1/4 tspTurmeric powder
  9. 1 PinchAsafoetida or Hing
  10. 1/8 tspBaking Soda
  11. 2 SprigsCurry Leaves torn
  12. Water as required
  13. Oil as required for frying

Steps

30-35 minutes
  1. 1

    Make a thick yet a fluffy batter using all the ingredients mentioned using water as required. Keep aside for 15 minutes or a little more.

    Meanwhile heat Oil for frying on a medium high heat after a standing time of considerable duration. Drop small balls of the batter in Oil and fry until golden brown and crisp. Do it on a medium high heat only.

    Fry in batches of 2 or 3 or as required. Serve these gorgeous Pakoras or Fritters with a dip of your choice. Also garnish with some fried Curry Leaves before serving. Enjoy!
