Steps
- 1
Peel the garlic. Wash and drain it.
- 2
Transfer it to a blender and blend to a smooth paste and set aside.
- 3
Heat oil in a non-stick pan. When hot, add cumin seeds and allow it to sizzle.
- 4
Remove the pan from heat. Add turmeric powder, kashmiri red chilli powder and coriander powder and mix it well.
- 5
Add garlic paste and salt. Mix it well.
- 6
Keep the pan back on heat. Add water and mix it well. Once the mixture starts boiling, reduce the heat to low and allow it to cook for about 25 to 30 minutes.
- 7
After 20-25 minutes of cooking, you will notice the oil separates from the mixture and appears at the surface. At this moment, add a tablespoon of coconut oil and cook for another 5 minutes or more. This enhances the taste of the chutney.
