Soak tamarind in water and get the extract ready(tamarind water)

Add all the powders, salt, crushed tomato and garlic

Heat a pan. Pour sesame oil. Keep in medium flame.

Put mustard seeds, urad dal, red chilli, curry leaves and asafetida

Then pour the tamarind water and allow it to boil

Turn off when it starts to bubble. Add finely chopped coriander leaves. Pepper rasam is ready to serve with hot rice
