Mix flour, salt and baking powder in a big bowl.

In a separate bowl, use electric mixer to mix butter and sugar thoroughly until pale yellow. Put in the first egg, mix it well and repeat it one by one until it creates creamy textures.

Then put vanilla extract and flour into egg mixture, fold and mix it well with mixer whilst adding the milk.

Divide the batter evenly into 2 portions. Put one of the plain batter straight onto cake/ loaf tin that has been greased. Add cocoa powder and grated chocolate into the other batter. Stir it well. Meanwhile preheat the oven to 190 degree.

Pour the cocoa batter in each side of the tin, and make swirl shape with a spoon or cake knife. While you’re swirling it, try not to touch the base. No need to over mix!

Put it in the oven for about 40 minutes. Insert a skewer in the middle of cake, if it’s too wet bake it a bit longer.

Let it cool on a cooling rack for the cake to settle. You can serve with vanilla ice cream or double cream !
