Collects the ingredients.

Wash the rice. Cover with the lid. Soak for 10 minutes. Peel the skin of potato and cut into pieces.

Heat ghee in a cooker, add choti elaichi, bay leaves, almonds. Saute for few seconds on medium flame. Add potato, green peas.

Mix well. Fry for 2 minutes on medium flame. Add soaked rice, mix well. Saute for half minute on high flame. Turn the flame low.

Add few drops of kesar food color, mix well. Add water.

Add salt, mix well. Turn the flame high, let it come to boil.

Cover with the lid and cook for 2 whistles on high flame. Turn off the flame. Let it cool down, now open the lid.

Transfer it in a bowl. Kesari pulao is ready to serve.
