I have had a hard time finding recipes which use 100% whole wheat flour. I have switched all my flour to whole wheat flour and it has become my all-purpose flour. You will be amazed by the many recipes you can use 100% whole wheat flour and they turn out amazing! Try this one and let me know if you have any suggestions. I am always ready to learn.

Ingredients

  1. 1 3/4 cupwhole wheat flour
  2. 3/4 cupsugar
  3. 1 tspbaking powder
  4. 1/2 tspbaking soda
  5. Pinchsalt
  6. 2 sticksbutter (Unsalted)
  7. 1 tspvanilla extract
  8. 4eggs
  9. 3/4 cupbuttermilk or heavy cream
  10. 1 tspapple cider vinegar (to activate the baking soda)
  11. Chocolate Frosting
  12. 2 stickbutter (unsalted)
  13. 3 cupspowder sugar
  14. 3/4 cupcocoa powder
  15. 4 tbspheavy whipping cream
  16. 1 tspvanilla extract
  17. 2 tbspcoffee espresso (for richer flavor - optional)

Cooking Instructions

    Mix: flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt

    Mix: butter with sugar. Add one egg at a time. Add heavy cream, vanilla, and apple cider vinegar until smooth and all combined

    Add butter and egg mixture to the flour mixture. Mix until all combined and not over mix.

    Prepare an 8 inch pan. Add batter. Bake at 350 f for 30 to 45 mins, depending on your oven temp.

    Chocolate frosting

    Mix all ingredients on high speed. Until smooth. Use when cake has cooled down.
