For Dieters Easy Okara Scones

cookpad.japan @cookpad_jp

I have a really big appetite, even though I want to go on a diet… So, I made these delicious, healthy, and filling okara scones. I'm doing 'Okikae Diet' (replacing one of three meals with diet substitutes) with these okara scones.

If you're using an oven, it's 20 minutes at 180℃. It's 10-12 minutes in a toaster oven.

You can also try mixing in some chocolate, fruit granola, or amanatto (sweetened adzuki beans)
When I sprinkled some cinnamon on top of the dough with raisins, the scones baked up tasting like a dessert from Tohato. Recipe by hiroko

  2. 2

Mix and massage the dough over the bag until it comes together.

  3. 3

You can also add mixed nuts, black sesame seeds, or mixed cheese if you'd like.

  4. 4

Stretch and flatten the dough, fold in half, and stretch again. (This makes layers in the dough, so that the scones will be even fluffier when baked!)

  5. 5

Stretch the dough out to a thickness of 1 cm, and cut with a knife.

  6. 6

Bake for 10-12 minutes in a toaster oven.

  7. 7

Here are some plain scones made with okara and pancake mix.

  8. 8

I mixed some pizza cheese and bacon into these scones. They're amazing with some black pepper on top!

  9. 9

These scones are flavored with black tea and maple syrup. I mixed in some Earl Grey tea leaves and maple syrup.
