Mom's Teriyaki Chicken with Green Onions

My family used to call chicken teriyaki with green onions. It's great with rice! I recreated this dish based off my childhood memories.

If you are preparing this in advance, stop at Step 3 and coat the chicken with the sauce right before you serve!

Ingredients

1 serving
  1. 1Chicken breast (or chicken thigh meat)
  2. 1 1/2 tbsp*Katakuriko
  3. 1 tspeach *Sake and soy sauce
  4. 1Japanese leek
  5. Teriyaki Sauce
  6. 2 tbspof each Soy sauce, mirin
  7. 1 tbspSake
  8. 2 tspSugar

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Cut the chicken into bite size pieces. Rub in the chicken with the mixed * seasoning until there's no liquid left. Cut the green onions into 3 cm length.

    Heat 2 teaspoons of oil and cook the chicken until golden brown. Take out the chicken and set aside.

  3. 3

    Add a little more oil and cook the green onions until browned and take out from the pan.

  4. 4

    Boil teriyaki sauce ingredients in the pan and add the chicken and green onions. Cook until the sauce thickens.
