I made an easy and quick cake for an afternoon snack.

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Combine the pancake mix and the milk in a heatproof container, such as a coffee mug. The amount of the pancake mix is rounded tablespoons shown in the photo, it does not need to be exact.
- 2
Stir the ingredients well in the cup until smooth.
- 3
Cover the container loosely with plastic wrap and microwave it for 1 minute and 30 seconds!! Without the plastic wrap, the batter may bulge up and come out of the container...
- 4
It is done. It's very fluffy. You can make various flavors and it can be a perfect snack for you and your child.
- 5
This is the cocoa flavored version. Add 1/2 tablespoon of cocoa powder at Step 1.
- 6
Addendum: I have learnt from one of the users that adding 1 tablespoon of milk helps the cake rise if the regular way isn't doing the trick! Please try this if your cake did not rise too much.

Fluffy Steamed Meat Buns, Handmade Dough Just use Cake Flour Fluffy Steamed Meat Buns, Handmade Dough Just use Cake Flour
I love fluffy steamed buns. After a lot of research , and finally completing this recipe, I decided to post it here. Now it has been over 10 years since I first introduced this recipe. It is scary how fast time flies .Be very careful not to let the surface of the dough dry out while it rises. Use a spray bottle to mist the dough, or a damp tea towel to keep the surface moist.Since the dough is slightly sweet, you can fill the buns with anko or another sweet filling. Try many different combinations. Recipe by Shunashuna cookpad.japan -

Steamed Bun using Pancake Mix and a Microwave Steamed Bun using Pancake Mix and a Microwave
I had some pancake mix left over and tried various things to be able to make cakes with only small amounts. When plain it tastes like a simple sponge. It is also good when you add chocolate or raisins. When wrapping the container, make sure there is some space at the top. If you wrap it too tightly, the container will deform because of the heat. Molten Chocolate Cake Style Steamed Bread in the Microwave Molten Chocolate Cake Style Steamed Bread in the Microwave
I came up with a recipe that I could make easily with my kids and could give away as a Father's Day present. Their father said that it was rich and tasty and he was surprised to find chocolate in what he thought to be just normal steamed bread. He ate it cool but seems to really want to try it warm as well.Once I added the egg, I tried putting the bowl on the scales and measuring it after you've added each ingredient. This bread tends to rise more than expected so when pouring in the mixture, if you're wondering whether it's enough it's probably about right. This recipe yields 4 breads in total but make sure to cook 2 at a time to minimize any uneven cooking. This recipe contains 605 kcal in total = 151 kcal per bread. Recipe by chikappe cookpad.japan -
Basic Steamed Bun Basic Steamed Bun
This simple and basic steamed bun recipe can be adjusted for a variety of flavours.Once you add milk, transfer to steamer as soon as possible. Otherwise it won’t rise well. This has a soft texture so I recommend placing cupcake holders in ramekins or cups. Recipe by Ringono recipe cookpad.japan
