A classic Moroccan lamb tagine that's simple and easy to prepare for lunch or dinner.

In a bowl, mix all the spices together with a little oil.

Season the lamb with the spice mixture.

Brush the tagine pot with olive oil, add the lamb, cover, and stir occasionally while cooking.

Add the onion and garlic, cover, cook for 5 minutes, then add 1 cup (about 240 ml) or more of water. Cover and cook until the lamb is tender.

Rinse the prunes and place them in a saucepan with 1/2 cup (about 120 ml) water, the cinnamon sticks, sugar, and butter. Simmer over low heat until the prunes are soft and syrupy.

To serve, place the prunes and fried almonds over the lamb and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
