Puff Pastry Roll Filled with Marinated Pork Loin and Cheese
Here's a very easy dish to prepare that doesn't require much cleanup and works great for lunch, dinner, or as an appetizer.
Steps
- 1
Gather the ingredients and preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C), using both top and bottom heat if possible.
- 2
Unroll the puff pastry on the parchment paper it comes with. Spread 2-3 tablespoons of tomato sauce over one-third of the pastry and sprinkle with oregano. Place two slices of cheese on top of the sauce, then lay the seasoned pork loin slices on top. Leave about 1/2 inch (1.5 cm) around the edges to make rolling easier.
- 3
Spread the remaining tomato sauce over the pork, sprinkle with a little more oregano, and add the last two slices of cheese on top. Using the parchment paper, roll up the pastry and seal the ends. You can use the whole sheet or just enough to make the roll; I chose the second option.
- 4
Place the roll seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush with beaten egg and bake at 350°F (180°C) for 30-40 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown. Remove from the oven and let rest for a couple of minutes. If some tomato sauce leaks out, don't worry—it will still turn out great.
- 5
After resting, slice and serve as desired. Enjoy!
