Til Gud Laddoo ( sesame seeds and Jaggery bliss balls) are essential part of winter cuisine.
Makarsankranti is our harvest festival celebrated with making sesame seeds delicacies. Til Gid laddoo are most favourite part of Sankranti cuisine and in Maharashtra, there is a saying,
"Til Gul ( gud) ghya , goad goad bola" ( after eating these Laddoos, your talk shoud become as sweet as them!)
They are rich in protein, iron, calcium and vitamin B family . They are favourite with everyone who loves sweets. Happy Sankranti!

Ingredients

30 minutes
6 servings
  • 2 cupsDry Roasted sesame seeds
  • 1 1/4 cupGrated jaggery or jaggery powder
  • 1 tablespoonGhee
  • 1 tspCardamom powder
  • 1 tablespoonDry Coconut powder
  • 1 tablespoonRoasted Peanut powder

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

    First, grind the sesame seeds, coconut powder, groundnut powder and cardamom powder together in a mixer jar till you get a grainy powder.

    Then keep the jaggery to melt in a thick bottomed pan on low flame. When it melts and reached first boil, remove from flame, cool a little and strain carefully to remove any particles. Remove 2 tablespoons syrup aside in a bowl. Again heat the rest and add ghee. Mix well. Then switch off flame.

    Then add the nut powders. Stir well till you get a lumpy and sticky mix. If you need syrup, add from the reserved syrup.. Then grease your palms with ghee and roll out small portions of the mixture in ladoos.

    Keep them to firm up for an hour. Then serve and enjoy!

    Tip: If mixture becomes too dry then add more jaggery syrup. If it becomes too loose then add more sesame seed powder or dry coconut powder.
