Ingredients

  1. 5to 8 Cherry tomatoes
  2. 400 mlBoiled and cooled water
  3. 2 tbspSugar
  4. A jar
  5. 1 tspYeast solution, if available

Steps

    Sterilize the jar with boiling water. Cut the tomatoes and put them in the jar, and add enough water that was boiled then cooled to cover. Add sugar and yeast solution if you have any, and leave the jar in a warm place.

    It will ferment in about 2 days in the summer. It's done if it foams when you open the lid and shake the jar. It will smell like tomato alcohol. Open the lid once a day and shake the jar until the starter has developed.

    Store as is in the refrigerator. You can strain the liquid when you use it, or strain and store the liquid. When 1/2 the liquid remains, add as much boiled and cooled water as the starter you used up with 1 teaspoon of sugar, and store.
