Start by making the aromatic mix: combine all the ingredients and mix well. Cover with plastic wrap and let it rest. For a stronger flavor, you can prepare this 1-2 days in advance.

A few minutes before starting, soak the raisins in water and set aside. Beat the eggs with the sugar until light and fluffy, then add the oil, milk, sifted flour, and baking powder, mixing well to combine.

Add the aromatic mix, chocolate chips, and drained, patted-dry raisins. Gently fold everything together with a spatula, then pour the batter into a baking pan lined with parchment paper.

Bake at 350°F (180°C) for about 45 minutes. Check doneness with a toothpick before turning off the oven.
