Since I love plantains and they were on sale, I fried them up and seasoned them with "Magma-ne-san Special"'s Cajun spice recipe.

When pan frying, do not put them in all at once. I recommend dividing them into at least three batches. Recipe by Brandy

Ingredients

3 servings
  1. 2Plantains or sweet potatoes
  2. 2 tbspor more Vegetable oil or olive oil
  3. 1 tspCajun spice or garam masala
  4. 1Salt (optional)

Cooking Instructions

    Heat oil in a frying pan to about 180℃. Peel the plantains, then cut into 1-cm thick slices. Shallow fry both sides until crisp and brown, then drain off excess oil.

    Sprinkle on 1 teaspoon of Cajun spice and mix well. Refer to "Magma-ne-san Special"'s recipe:.

    Platains have a starchy texture similar to sweet potatoes. These taste good seasoned with salt and chili powder, but they go very well with Cajun spice. Have them with beer or wine.

    Plantains are "cooking bananas". They are sold in large supermarkets in Japan as well.

    This recipe can be used with potatoes, sweet potatoes, or regular bananas, too.

    I pan fried these with about 2 tablespoons oil. I recommend serving them up as a side to "kbitch"'s dish.

    I used this recipe to make sweet potatoes seasoned with garam masala.
