I once saw sweet potato bites topped with apples, but when I later went to buy it, it was sold out. So I made it at home.

When boiling the sweet potatoes, if you like clumps of potatoes, don't mash it completely.

Ingredients

  1. 250 gramsSweet potato
  2. 250 mlMilk
  3. 50 gramsSugar
  4. 50 gramsButter
  5. 50 gramsWhite flour
  6. 5 gramsBaking powder
  7. 2Egg
  8. 1☆Apple
  9. 1 tbsp☆Sugar

Cooking Instructions

    Slice the apple into thick pieces and simmer with sugar in a pot. Cover with a lid and stir occasionally. There's no need to add water. 10 minutes should be enough.

    Cut the sweet potato into small pieces (about 1 cm cubes) and heat in a separate pot along with the milk. Cover with a lid and heat until the potatoes are soft. ※Caution! Don't burn them.

    Once softened, use a wooden spatula to stir and mash the potatoes on low heat.

    It will turn into a paste like this. You can leave some clumps while mashing if you prefer.

    Beat the butter brought to room temperature until soft. Add the sugar and mix until pale.

    Gradually add the beaten egg.

    Mix in the sweet potatoes from Step 4.

  8. 8

    Add the flour and baking powder and stir everything together.

    Pour the mixture into the cake mold and top with the apples from Step 1.

    Bake in a 180°C oven for 50 minutes. When an inserted skewer comes out clean, it's finished.
