Caramel Sauce Easily Made in the Microwave

I wanted to make just a little bit of caramel sauce so I consulted a book my kids borrowed from the library, "Microwave Snack Magic," and came up with this variation.

It's hot, so be careful not to burn yourself.
If you heat it for too long, it will have a strong bitter taste and harden easily, so be careful. Recipe by Hinamatsuri

2 servings
  1. 2 tbspSugar
  2. 1 tbsp+ 2 teaspoons Water

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Add 2 teaspoons to the sugar (don't mix).

  2. 2

Microwave uncovered at 600 W for 2 minutes. (If the color is too light, continue microwaving in 10 second increments.)

  3. 3

Once it has turned brown, remove from the microwave using a pot holder, and shake.

  4. 4

Add 1 tablespoon of water into the bowl and let it cool. (At this time, it will likely spatter, so be careful.) Mix with a spoon until evenly combined.
