Ingredients

  • 1 lbsDeep-fried tofu cut into small pieces
  • 1 cupPlant-based ground meat
  • 1/3 cupFrozen edamame beans
  • 2 tbspSesame oil
  • 1 tbspminced garlic
  • 1/2 tbspminced ginger
  • Simmering sauce
  • 2 cupwater
  • 3 tbspSoy sauce
  • 3 tbspCooking rice wine
  • 3 tbspMirin cooking wine
  • 2 tbspSugar or sugar substitute
  • 1 tspVegetable broth paste
  • Finishing ingredients
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbspCorn starch
  • 1/2 cupwater

  1. 1

    Mix all of the simmering sauce ingredients and set aside.
    * I used this paste for broth paste.

    Set your wok or large deep pan to medium heat, and add 2 tablespoon of sesame oil. After 15 seconds add minced ginger and minced garlic. Stir-fry for 30 seconds.

  3. 3

    Add deep-fried Tofu and stir-fry for 1 minute. Add frozen edamame, plant-based ground meat. Stir-fry for another minute.

  4. 4

    Stir up the prepared sauce mixture and pour it into the wok or pan mixing everything together until combined. Make it boiling.

  5. 5

    Once boiling, decrease the heat to low and keep shimmering for 10 minutes.

  6. 6

    Add 2 tablespoon of corn starch into 1/2 cup water and mix well. Turn off the heat and pour the mixture into wok or pan to thicken the sauce. Stir constantly.

  7. 7

    Turn the heat to medium and keep stirring till your favorite thickness.
    Add salt and pepper if you need.
    Done! Serve with brown rice or white rice.
