Roll Cake for Babies

I made this simple cake because I thought it is too early to give my baby a regular cake. It is not that sweet. It is not something delicious since it is for babies, but I wanted to keep this recipe as a commemoration.

It is easy to sift the flour using a tea strainer. The crepe will be moist if you rest the batter. Please decorate the cake as you like, since I am not so good at it.
Please adjust the sweetness as you like too. You can arrange it by garnishing with fruits or adding rum for adults. Recipe by Vegiko

Ingredients

  1. Crepe Batter
  2. 1/2Egg
  3. 40 gramsWhite flour
  4. 70 mlMilk (or baby formula milk)
  5. 5 gramsMelted butter
  6. Banana Custard
  7. 1/2Egg
  8. 1to 2 teaspoons Sugar
  9. 1 tspWhite flour
  10. 70 mlMilk
  11. 1half Banana
  12. 6pieces Raisins

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Mix the milk into a bowl of eggs, add sifted flour into the mixture. Mix until there are no lumps and then add the melted butter.

  2. 2

Rest the batter in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Melt the butter in a small pan (about 18 cm diameter), cool it on a wet towel. Pour the batter in the pan, and cook both sides on low heat. Makes 3 crepes.

  3. 3

Whisk the egg and the sugar together. Mix in the flour, and add warm milk (warm it by microwaving) little by little.

  4. 4

Transfer the mixture from step 3 into a small pot over low heat, and stir until thickened. When thickened, remove onto a plate and cover with plastic wrap.

  5. 5

Mix mashed bananas and chopped raisins into the cooled custard cream.

  6. 6

Lay one crepe on a sheet of plastic wrap. Make layers of custard (1/3 amount)→crepe→custard→crepe→custard.

  7. 7

Roll the crepes up from the side nearest you, and shape it by putting the edge on the bottom. The cake will be easier to cut if you rest it in the refrigerator. Cut the ends off and decorate the cake.
