Potato Scallop is one of the classic dish from England. It is creamy, cheesy and delicious. In this dish a bed of thinly sliced potatoes and sauted capsicum and onions are layered with creamy, homemade sauce. It is then loaded with cheese and baked until golden brown and finely garnished with mixed herbs.

Potato Scallop is one of the classic dish from England. It is creamy, cheesy and delicious. In this dish a bed of thinly sliced potatoes and sauted capsicum and onions are layered with creamy, homemade sauce. It is then loaded with cheese and baked until golden brown and finely garnished with mixed herbs.
Steps

Creamy Sauce~
In a pan heat 2 tspn oil and 1 tbspn butter. Add 1 tbspn flour and saute a bit. - 2
Add ¾ cup milk and mix well. Keep stirring the sauce to avoid forming lumps.

Keep Stirring until the sauce starts thickening. This will only take a few minutes. Then add salt and pepper.

Give it a good mix and turn off the flame. Keep the sauce aside.

Now in another pan heat 1 tspn oil. Saute garlic, Capsicum and onions. Add a pinch of salt and pepper. Saute for a minute and remove from heat.

Cut the potatoes in thin slices or use a slicer. Now start layering the bake dish~
First make a bed of sliced potatoes. - 7
Now add the sauted capsicum and onion. Layer it with the creamy sauce. Repeat the same steps and layer the potatoes again.

Now grate pizza cheese or mozerella cheese from top and also sprinkle some mixed herbs. Bake the Scalloped potatoes in a preheated oven for 1 hour at 180 degrees Celsius. Keep the dish covered for the 1st 30minutes with foil paper, remove the cover after 30minutes and continue to bake.

The Potato Scallops are ready to be served. It gets a beautiful golden crust. Now garnish with Coriander leaves and sprinkle mixed herbs and chilli flakes. Serve hot.
