Avocado and Octopus Appetizer Salad

My goal was to find an appetizer that satisfies an adult palate. So I mixed the watercress and wasabi that I like, (which I think have grown-up tastes) and combined them together.

When mixing in soft textured ingredients such as avocado, it's best to add them with a wooden spoon. If you mix the watercress early, it bruises and does not look appealing. Place it on the top of the salad and mix it when you start eating. Recipe by Setsubunhijiki

Ingredients

2 servings
  1. 150 gramsBoiled octopus
  2. 1Avocado
  3. 1 smallbunch Watercress
  4. 2 tbspVegetable oil
  5. 1 tbspVinegar
  6. 1 tbspLemon juice
  7. 1 tbspMayonnaise
  8. 1/4 tspSoy sauce
  9. 1Wasabi

Steps

  1. 1

    Cut the octopus into easy to eat sized pieces. Combine the vegetable oil, vinegar, salt and pepper and mix it with the octopus. Use the soft leaves of the watercress.

    In a bowl, combine the ingredients from the lemon juice to wasabi on the list.

    Cut the avocado into easy to eat pieces.

    Lightly drain the octopus and toss it with avocado. Serve on a plate and garnish with watercress.
