Avocado Stir-fried With Ginger & Spices

I wanted to have avocado with my favourite spices. I also added in another of my all-time favorite ingredients: ginger.

Once cooking over high heat, the avocado will burn quite easily, so try to cook it quickly.
For those who prefer it less salty, you can leave out the salt at the end. Whatever you like. Recipe by John Lee Cooker

Ingredients

  1. 1Avocado
  2. 1 tbspOlive oil
  3. 1/2 tspCumin seeds
  4. 1/2 pieceGinger (finely chopped)
  5. 1/4 tspCoriander powder
  6. 1/4 tspGaram masala
  7. 2 tspLemon juice
  8. 1/2 tspFish sauce or soy sauce
  9. 1 dashSalt

Cooking Instructions

    Cut the avocado into bite-sized pieces. Finely chop the ginger.

    Put the olive oil and cumin seeds in a small frying pan. Put on a low heat and fry, taking care not to burn it.

    When the cumin starts to pop, add the chopped ginger, and fry until fragrant.

  4. 4

    Once it is fragrant, add the coriander and garam masala, and lightly fry.

  5. 5

    Turn the heat up to high and add the avocado. Mix it quickly and then add the lemon juice and nam pla. Fry together while shaking the pan back and forth.

    Once everything has been combined, have a taste, and season with a little salt. Done!
