Cooking Instructions
- 1
Cut the onion into thin wedges. Thinly slice the bacon. Cut the potatoes into 5 mm slices, and boil until a skewer goes through easily.
- 2
Heat the butter in a frying pan and stir fry the bacon. When the fat starts to come out of the bacon add the onion and stir fry.
- 3
When the onion has wilted turn off the heat. Add all the flour, and mix well. Make sure to turn the heat off first.
- 4
Mix for about 30 seconds with the heat still off, until it's no longer floury.
- 5
Add the milk and mix well. Simmer over medium heat until the milk is thickened, add the soup cubes and pepper, and the bechamel sauce is done.
- 6
Line a gratin dish with the cooked potatoes, and pour the bechamel sauce over it.
- 7
Top with the pizza cheese, and bake in a preheated 250°C oven until the top has browned. (About 15 minutes.)
- 8
It's dense and floury and creamy and delicious!

Quick and Easy Potato Gratin Quick and Easy Potato Gratin
I like potato gratin, but I think it takes a long time to cook the potatoes thoroughly. If you slice the potatoes and microwave them for 5 minutes they are ready to be used!By coating the potatoes with sauce instead of pouring the sauce on top, the entire dish becomes delicious. It was a big hit at a wine-tasting gathering.I made a very simple potato-only gratin this time, but it also tastes delicious with some bacon and mushrooms too! This recipe reduces the cooking time by slicing the potato thinly and using a microwave. You are only browning the top of the gratin in the oven or the toaster oven. So feel free to brown it to how you like, rather than sticking to the time that I wrote. Recipe by classy cookpad.japan -
[Farmhouse Recipe] An Easy Rice Gratin using Rice Flour [Farmhouse Recipe] An Easy Rice Gratin using Rice Flour
I tried making a potage soup first with rice flour, then I tried making stews and gratined dishes. I wanted to make a rice gratin (doria), so I made it with instant turmeric rice and it was delicious. This recipe is now one of our family favorites. You just need to stir fry the rice for 2-3 minutes in Step 5.The dish is just baked briefly until the cheese is browned, so make the sauce and the rice at the same time in two pans, and put them in the baking dish while hot.The turmeric is just added for color, so you can leave it out if you like.
