Ingredients

15 minutes
10 -15 Modak
  1. 1 cupmilk
  2. 2 cupsmilk powder
  3. 1/3 cuppowdered sugar
  4. 1 tbspghee
  5. 1/3 cupchopped dry fruits (pistachio, cashew nuts, almonds)
  6. 2 tbspgulkand
  7. 1-2 droprose essence
  8. 1 tsprose syrup

Cooking Instructions

    For stuffing, combine all dry fruits with gulkand. Mix well and keep it aside

    Heat a pan with 1 tbsp ghee and 1 cup milk. When milk comes to boil add powdered sugar. Stir well, making sure everything well combined.

    Now add milk powder. Keeping the flame on low. Stir continuously. The mixture starts to thicken. After 10-15 minutes the mixture starts to separate from the pan. Keep mixing until it from s a lump. Add rose essence and mix it well. Finally instant mawa is ready.

    Transfer to a bowl and allow to cool slightly. Add rose syrup. Mix well and make a non sticky dough.

    Grease the Modak mould with ghee. Stuff the mawa mixture into the mould. Also put a tsp of dry fruits gulkand mixture in the centre. Cover the base of the Modak. Scrap off excess mixture. Un mould the modak gently without breaking.

    Finally garnish with some chopped pistachio and rose petals and ready to serve.
