Steps
- 1
Mix the ketchup and Japanese Worcestershire-style sauce. Taste and adjust the ratio.
- 2
Mince the onion. Finely chop the chicken thigh, then season with salt and pepper.
- 3
Heat olive oil in a frying pan. Sauté the minced garlic.
- 4
Add the chicken thigh and onion, and continue cooking.
- 5
Then, add the ketchup. The key is to cook the ketchup before adding the rice to evaporate the water.
- 6
Now, add the rice and mix in with the ketchup and other ingredients. Season with salt and pepper. Add a few shakes of basil powder.
- 7
Dish it up nicely by shaping the rice. Top with cheese.
- 8
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. Butter works too.
- 9
Crack eggs directly into the pan. Beat and mix with a spatula (like making scrambled eggs).
- 10
When it begins to harden, spread it out thinly. Turn the heat off when it's soft-set.
- 11
Slide it onto the rice with ketchup. Voila! Top with more ketchup if you like.
