My Mother-in-Law's Cabbage and Ham Sandwich with Mayonnaise

My mother-in-law has made this sandwich since my husband was a child and she gave me the recipe.

If you think the cabbage is too salty rinse first and squeeze the excess moisture.
When you eat straight away you might not need any mayonnaise on the bread. Recipe by Kazapi-

Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 4 sliceSliced bread
  2. 4leaves Cabbage
  3. 4 sliceHam
  4. 1/2 tspSalt
  5. 1and 1/2 tablespoons Mayonnaise

Cooking Instructions

    Slice the cabbage roughly. Put the cabbage and salt in a bowl and rub the cabbage to let it absorb the salt. Let it sit for about 5 minutes.

    Squeeze the excess moisture of cabbage. Combine the ham, sliced cabbage and mayonnaise.

  3. 3

    Toast the bread lightly and spread some mayonnaise (not included in the ingredients list) thinly on the sides to face the filling. Cut in half and put the filling between the slices.
