Idli has several versions. Goli idli is less oily and healthy recipe. Goli idli is also known as rice balls. Its shape like a small ball so it is called as Goli. When you steam idli, don't overlap balls to each other. This instant goli idli requires no soda and no fermentation. It's complete and balanced meal.

When you steam idli, don't overlap balls to each other. This instant goli idli requires no soda and no fermentation. It's complete and balanced meal.

Firstly, in a large non-stick kadhai add water, salt and oil. Wait till water get boil.

Now add rice flour and continuously mix well until water is absorbed. Cover the lid and simmer for 3 minutes until flour turns to moist. Transfer the flour to bowl. Wait for few minutes to settle down. And knead the soft, smooth dough.

Further, apply oil in palm and start to roll small balls of idli. Greace the plate with oil of steamer and transfer the rice balls in it. Also Put water in the bottom of steamer and cover the lid and boil it for few minutes. After that place plate of goli idli into steamer and steam it for 10-12 minutes. And keep aside.

Tempering : heat oil in saucepan add mustard seeds, sesame seeds, asafoetida, chana dal, urad dal, curry leaves, green chilli, ginger etc. (Make sure all the spices are cook well / turns aromatic).

Add rice balls in it and gently mix it well. Cover the lid and simmer for 3 minutes. Make sure that flavour is absorbed well. At last add coriander and finally goli idli is ready enjoy it with sambhar, green chutney, coconut chutney etc.
