First deshell& devein the prawns properly. Wash & marinate with little salt, turmeric & red chilli powder.

Soak the whole kashmiri red chillies in vinegar for 10 mins.

To make the pickle masala blend the kashmiri red chillies alongwith the vinegar, peppercorns,cumin seeds,coriander seeds,whole garam masala & tamarind pulp.No need to add water.

Heat oil in a pan. Fry the prawns till little hard. Strain the extra oil Keep aside.

In the same oil saute the ginger, garlic & chopped onion. Add little sugar to add more brown colour to the onions. Add chopped tomatoes & fry well.

Now add the masala with salt as per taste. Add little water if needed. Cook for 7-8 mins till the oil seperates.

Add the prawns & mix well. Let it simmer for 2-3 mins.

Lastly add the chopped coriander leaves. Serve hot with pav or steamed rice.
