My philosophy of cooking is when you buy something you paid for everything in the package. So I try my best to use as much of the product I purchased. So the recipe here is an example. If you have freezer space and don't have enough to make a recipe freeze it till you do have enough.

Ingredients

  1. As neededtrimmings from porkchops
  2. 2-1/2 cupsrice
  3. 5 cupswater
  4. 1 teaspoonsalt
  5. 1 teaspoonground white pepper
  6. 1/2 teaspoongranulated garlic powder
  7. 1/2 stickbutter
  8. 2 tablespoonsvegetable oil

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Trim, save/use, the bones and some of the fat on porkchops. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic. Melt the 1/2 the butter and all the oil to a pot. When butter is melted add the pork trimmings and brown.

    Turn as needed. Add water and boil till bones and meat is done.

    Remove the bones and trimmings add rest of butter and rice to boiling water. Remove the meat from the cooked bones chop into small pieces along with the edible trimmings.

    When the rice is cooked add the chopped pork to the rice. Simmer 8 minutes covered. Allow to rest 12 minutes undisturbed.

    Turn back on to heat. Stir in 1 cup of water bring to simmer, serve. I hope you enjoy!!!! I added my homemade Barbecue onion sauce to my rice it was really delicious!!!
