Ingredients

1 hour
14 pieces
  • 2 litrefull cream milk
  • 100 graw turmeric
  • 2 cupssugar
  • 1 cuppowdered almond powder
  • 2 cupsdessicated coconut
  • 1 tspnutmeg powder
  • 1 tspcardamom powder
  • as required Some toasted melon seeds for garnishing

Steps

  1. 1

    Heat milk in a wide and deep bottom pan. Once it's starts boiling reduce the flame to medium and stir occasionally.

  2. 2

    Reduce the milk to nearly half.

  3. 3

    Add raw turmeric and cook stirring.

  4. 4

    You will see the mixture starts to thickening. Now add dessicated coconut and almond powder. Nice mix everything together.

  5. 5

    Once the mixture starts leaving the pan, add sugar. At this stage, the mixture will again start watering. Cook till the mixture starts to thicken again.

  6. 6

    Add nutmeg powder and cardamom powder.

  7. 7

    Once it starts gathering together and is like a dough, pour to a greased plate/baking dish and spread evenly.

  8. 8

    Garnish with toasted melon seeds. Let it cool to room temperature. It takes nearly 2 hours to set the burfi.

    Cut into desired pieces and Store in refrigerator.
