I learned it from my sister-in-law. She made it from watermelon Peel. It can be used in mutanjan, zarda, cakes ice cream etc etc
Steps
- 1
First Clean the green and red part from the peels. It should be clean properly.
- 2
Now cut in cubes, wash and boil it.
- 3
It turns translucent.
- 4
Now make sugar syrup. By boiling sugar in water and cook till water becomes half in quantity. Mix watermelon peel in sugar syrup. And cook for 15 minutes. Let it cool completely.
- 5
Divide only sugar syrup in 3 to 4 parts or as you like depends upon the food color you have. Add food colors in syrup, mix well. Right now I have orange, green and blue colors.
- 6
Now add peel cubes in syrup and keep for rest overnight.
- 7
The next morning strain the tutti frutti.
- 8
It's ready. Keep it in an air tight container for later use.
