Ingredients

30 minutes
4 servings
  1. 2big Bitter guard / Karela
  2. 1/4 cupjaggery
  3. 1/2 cuptamrind juice
  4. 1 tbspsesame seeds
  5. 2red chilli
  6. salt
  7. 1/2 tspmustard seeds
  8. 1/4 tspmethi seeds
  9. pinchhing
  10. leavescurry
  11. oil

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

    Clean and wash karela in salt water.It reduces some bitterness. chop it into small pieces and keep them aside.

    Dry roast sesame seeds and red chillies and grind it into powder

  3. 3

    Fry the chopped karela in a sauce pan with little oil. Add salt and cook for some time.

  4. 4

    Then take this cooked karela long with ground jaggery and tamrind juice, grind it coarsely. Add little water and add the ground sesame seeds powder to it. Mix well and remove it in bowl.

  5. 5

    Then heat little oil in a pan.add mustard seeds and methi leaves,hing and curry leaves and red chilli.Pour this into the chutney.

    Serve this chutney as side dish to rice.
