Sweet Pongal with Milk and jaggery (Bellam Parvanam in Telugu)
We make this as prasad for Sun God in the month of Magha on sundays. Usely sunday is important for Surya bhagwan .Specially in the month of magha we do regular pooja for Sun God and give this pongal as naivedhayam .According to wikipedia ,Surya is the chief of the Navagraha, the nine Classical planets and important elements of Hindu astrology.He is often depicted riding a chariot harnessed by seven horses which might represent the seven colors of the rainbow or the seven chakras in the body. He is also the presiding deity of Sunday.

Clean rice and add little ghee to it. We do not wash the rice.

Boil milk in heavy bottom pan. when it starts boiling add rice to it.

Cook the rice for 15 mins.check with hand hand whether rice is cooked.

Once the rice is cooked switch off the flame. Then add ground jaggery and mix well.Add little ghee and give the prasadam to God and serve it to everyone.
