Assemble ingredients

In a mixer grinder add coconut + cashews + sugar and churn into a smooth powder.

In a moderately heated pan add semolina and dry roast for a few minutes till semolina turns aromatic.

Add ghee and roast further for a few minutes.

Add milk and cook semolina till the milk is absorbed and semolina becomes soft.

Now add the powder and mix very nicely under low to medium flame. Sugar leaves water, cook further till moisture evaporates well.

Lastly, add cardamom powder and mix well. Switch off flame and transfer to plate/thali and allow to cool.

Add 2-3 tsp ghee while the mixture is still warm and knead gently, it will turn into dough. Grease palms and start giving the shape of Modak.

Garnish with almonds or pista and it's ready to Serve.
