Dahi tikhari is a famous kathiyavadi dish from Gujarat. It is tempting, spicy, easy to make and made from curd, garlic and red chili powder. If you are in hurry or no vegetables at home try this yummy dish. It should be serve as a sabji or side dish with bajri rotla or bhakhri.

Dahi tikhari is a famous kathiyavadi dish from Gujarat. It is tempting, spicy, easy to make and made from curd, garlic and red chili powder. If you are in hurry or no vegetables at home try this yummy dish. It should be serve as a sabji or side dish with bajri rotla or bhakhri.

Whisk curd with hand beater and keep aside. Crush garlic cloves along with red chili powder in mortar and pestle. (Don't use mixer grinder). Take more or less red chili powder according to your taste.

In a pan heat oil. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. When crackles add asafoetida and curry leaves. Add chopped onion and saute until onion turns translucent.

Add ground red chili garlic mixture. Add turmeric powder, dhania jeera powder and salt. Mix well. Pour this tadka into whisked curd. (Keep some tadka for garnish if you like). Mix it.

Add chopped coriander leaves and mix it. Delicious dahi tikhari is ready to serve. Garnish with remaining tadka.
