Soak chana dal for hour, Add channadal, red chili,salt,hing grind it like a coarse paste

Heat a oil fry chana dal mixture

Heat a pan add oil once oil heat add whole spices,wait until fry add onion cook for a minute,add ginger garlic paste cook until raw smell goes of,add tomato and curry leave toss it for a minute add turmeric,salt, chilli powder,garam masala, coriander powder fry it for a minute add water for gravy consistency

After that raw smell goes off add fried chana dal in to the gravy

Check consistency of the gravy serve it with appam
