Brown Lentil Soup (Shorbet Ads Bejba)

Brown lentils are great for heart and artery health, improve digestion, and are rich in folic acid and potassium. They’re a good meat alternative because they’re high in protein. While brown lentils are commonly used in Egyptian koshari, this is a different recipe that’s especially comforting in winter.

Delicious and easy to do. It makes a huge portion so it's excellent for big groups. On thing, depending on taste you might not want to add the entire bag of lentils if you like to have more stock on your soup. jashy.aponte.7 -

Red Lentil Soup Red Lentil Soup
This is the first time I made this soup, and after one taste, I knew I had to share the recipe! Even my six-year-old liked it! 🤩I like my lentil soup thick and hearty, so the consistency I aim for is like a thin hummus. If you like a more watery soup, add more chicken broth or water. As with all soups, there is a lot of room for modification. If you like spice, chili powder, ginger, or cayenne pepper will amp it up nicely. If you want to make it vegan, substitute the chicken broth with vegetable broth. However, this version as written is perfectly delicious.
