Persian love rose cake

I love to bake cakes but frosting, glazing is something I avoid as I am not good at it! This was my first attempt at getting "creative" in June 2021. It was a cake that I baked for my mom's birthday and I ate it all! My mom is in Pakistan and she only got to see the pic. This cake always make me smile as it was featured last year in a baking calendar.

Preheat oven 325F.
Cream butter, eggs, sugar, yogurt with a whisk of stand mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes. - 2
Add cardamom, vanilla, rose water and whisk for 1 minute on low speed.

Add flour, almond flour, baking powder and whisk for 1 minute. Start at low speed to medium speed. Whisk until all ingredients are well combined.

Pour the batter in a buttered and parchment line pan

Bake for 1 hour or till a tester comes out clean.
Remove and allow to cool. - 6
While the cake is cooling, lets make the glaze.
Mix together powdered sugar, rose water and milk till smooth. - 7
Thinly slice the surface of the cake for a flat surface.

Pour the glaze over the cake.

Decorate with pistachio, rose petals and roses.

Sprinkle powdered sugar over the roses and petals.

Slice and enjoy!
