Chana Dal Halwa Katli

Boil chana dal in milk till 80%, on low- medium flame. Once done, let it be cooled.

Grind semi coarsely in grinder and take out. Crumble by hands and leave for 10 minutes.

Heat 2-3 tbsp ghee, add ground chana dal in batches and roast for 10minutes on low flame. A nice aroma emitts, take out of the pan.

Heat 2-3 tbsp ghee in the same pan and roast chopped dry fruits for 1 minute on low heat. add sugar and water. Cook till 1 string sugar syrup is formed.

Add chana dal in batches and cook till dal leaves the pan, add kewra water.

Grease a tray / thali with ghee. Transfer the chana dal mix to thali. Level the surface. Garnish with some chopped dry fruits. Press slightly.

Make cut marks of diamond shaped katlyis. Leave for 2-3 hours to be set or keep in fridge for 1 hour. After that cut katlis.
