Lotus stem or kamal kakdi, as it is popularly known, is a powerhouse of nutrients and flavour. It is used to make a variety of dishes, including curries and koftas. Here I make it pakore, some different taste.
Steps
- 1
Peel & wash proper, louts stem. Now boil it for 4 to 5 whistle. Always use thick shape of stem, because it is soft & tasty.
- 2
Dry it with paper napkin. Grate garlic on it. Apply dry spices also on it, leave it for 3 to 4 min.
- 3
Put the oil in a pan on gas stove till much hot for frying. Now take gram flour & make a smooth paste. Not much liquid & not so thick. Mix all dry spices also in it.
- 4
When oil be heated drop louts stem pieces one by one in oil. Fry it on both side on high flame. But take out them when they become fried 80 percent.
- 5
So we can fry all fritters at once. After 5 min again heat up same oil & now drop all fritters in oil. On low flame fry them till crispy.
- 6
They are ready for serve. Tomato ketchup make its more tasty. Enjoy it with hot tea.
