Stir-Fried Chicken with Shiitake Mushrooms and Napa Cabbage

For this recipe, I used Napa cabbage, but you can also use regular green cabbage. I use both types of cabbage in my Chinese recipes.

Measure and cut all the ingredients for the recipe. Season the chicken strips with 1 tablespoon soy sauce. Let marinate for 1 hour.

Coat the chicken strips in cornstarch so they are separated and don't stick together. Use more cornstarch if needed.

In a bowl, mix the sauce ingredients well.

Heat a wok with 1/2 cup vegetable oil and brown the chicken. Set aside.

In the same oil left in the wok, sauté the garlic and ginger together for a few seconds.

Add the onion, bell pepper, and shiitake mushrooms. Stir-fry for a couple of minutes over high heat.

Add the chicken, Napa cabbage, and sesame oil, and mix well.

Pour in the sauce, stir, and let it thicken.

Serve immediately.
