Coconut Apple Milkscones

For #GlobalApron challenge this week I chose apple as my main ingredient to make these tender, light milk scones, while incorporating the tropical sweetness of coconut and the natural sweetness of fresh apples.
These are ideal for breakfast, brunch, or an afternoon snack, To top it all, they are quick and easy to make.
Coconut Apple Milkscones
For #GlobalApron challenge this week I chose apple as my main ingredient to make these tender, light milk scones, while incorporating the tropical sweetness of coconut and the natural sweetness of fresh apples.
These are ideal for breakfast, brunch, or an afternoon snack, To top it all, they are quick and easy to make.
Steps

Preheat oven to 220C. Butter and dust a cookie sheet and set aside

Rub the butter or margarine into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs

Stir in the sugar, coconut and apple, then gently fold in the buttermilk and flavoring to make a soft rough dough, ensuring the apple pieces are evenly distributed throughout the mixture

Roll out on a lightly floured surface to about 2.5 cm/ 1 in thick and cut into rounds or half moons with a cookie cutter. Place the scones on the prepared baking sheet

Bake for 15 minutes or until well risen and golden. Package or cover before completely cooled and dry
