Ingredients

1-2 cocktails
  1. 2orange wedges
  2. 8fresh mint leaves
  3. 10blackberries
  4. 1/2 tsp.Sugar
  5. 2 oz.Bourbon
  6. 1 T.Maple syrup (or honey)
  7. Sparkling water or club soda
  8. Ice
  9. GARNISH: (optional)
  10. Blackberries
  11. Fresh Mint
  12. Orange or lemon wedges
  13. Maraschino cherries
  14. Sugar to rim the cocktail

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Place oranges, mint leaves, blackberries and sugar in a cocktail shaker or Mason/Ball jar and muddle well. Add the bourbon, syrup and ice cubes. Cover with tight-fitting lid and shake very well for about 2 minutes.

  2. 2

Strain into cocktail glass, over ice, and add sparkling water. The ratio of muddled bourbon to sparkling water is to taste. My sister, who doesn't like bourbon at all, loved this drink; but I mixed hers half and half. Mine had barely a splash of sparkling water because I LOVE Woodford Reserve bourbon! CHEERS!!

  3. 3

Goes great with my Bourbon Brie Bites as a late-night snack. 💜

My 5 siblings and I were raised in the 1950s and 60s midwest by a major foodie dad who was a great cook. We all learned to cook at a young age. I love to cook for my 2 daughters, 7 grandkids, 8 great-grandkids, and extended family. My 4 year old great-grandson makes my day when he says "Nan sure is a good cooker!". :-). I'm trying to get all my favorite recipes saved here so my family and friends all have easy access to them even after I'm gone. My Cookpad collection is their inheritance, so I try to add my comments and memories to each recipe; that way they'll remember me with a smile when they use the recipes years from now. Recently I've called on my grandkids (all adults and avid cooks) to send me their own favorite recipes, with their prep photos, so we can collect everyone's favorites together in one place.
