Mixed Matar Dal, Veggies

Dal cooked with vegetables is a popular choice in Odisha. It is also known as 'Dalma'. This recipe is healthy and a wholesome food, delicious and very common in coastal parts of Odisha.
Here, I have prepared the recipe with matar dal, other two dals and veggies. This tasty recipe goes well with steamed rice, Paratha, Poori as well as with Roti.
Mixed Matar Dal, Veggies
Dal cooked with vegetables is a popular choice in Odisha. It is also known as 'Dalma'. This recipe is healthy and a wholesome food, delicious and very common in coastal parts of Odisha.
Here, I have prepared the recipe with matar dal, other two dals and veggies. This tasty recipe goes well with steamed rice, Paratha, Poori as well as with Roti.

Arrange, assemble the ingredients. Chop the veggies.

Soak dals together in water for 10 minutes. In a pressure cooker take chopped veggies, soaked dals, salt, turmeric, tomato with the required amount of water. Cook for one whistle, allow it to cool down naturally.

Take oil in a kadhai, heat ponch phutan, bay leaf. Add chopped onion and green chillies and saute till the onion is translucent.

Then mix chopped tomatoes and ginger garlic paste. Cook on low flame till aromatic and oil separates from masala.

Add the masala powder and dried kasoori methi as mentioned above.

Cook the masala well. Add the boiled dals and veggies to masala and mix all nicely.

Boil the dals and veggies with the masala for 1-2 minutes. Garnish with chopped green coriander leaves and serve.
