Vatlii Dal is traditional authentic Maharashtrian recipe, especially prepared on the day of Ganapti virsan as a prasad. We can make this dal as a snack as it's protein rich & tasty savory snack.

Soak 2 cups chana dal in water for 5-6 hours. Drain all the water and wash the dal thoroughly.
Add 4-5 green chilies and grind coarsely in a grinder or in a food processor. You may add some water if needed when grinding in a grinder. - 2
In a thick bottom pan, heat the oil.Add the mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Let it crackle.
Now,add the turmeric powder, asafoetida, curry leaves. Add red chili powder. Add ground dal.
Stir on medium flame till the dal completely dries up and there are no lumps left. - 3
Cover dal & cook for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, stir continuously.
Add salt & red chili powder. Mix it well.
Dal should be cooked completely. Dal is ready for Ganapati parshad. - 4
Sprinkle chopped coriander and freshly desiccated coconut. Serve hot. It is offered Lord Ganesha on the day of visarjan. We can try this dal as a snack. It's supertasty.
