My fatcakes/amagwinya

My sister loved making these for me but I didn't get the opportunity to learn how to make them so now by trial and error, we'll get to the best.
My fatcakes/amagwinya
My sister loved making these for me but I didn't get the opportunity to learn how to make them so now by trial and error, we'll get to the best.
Steps
- 1
Pour your det ingredients into bowl
- 2
Add your water and knead. If consistency of dough looks dry add more water, it it looks wet add more flour in moderation.
- 3
Knead until lumpy dough mixture, mix for about 10 minutes then cover bowl and put in a warm place, either in the sun or under a blanket.
- 4
After an hour your dough should have risen atleast 2 times more, if not it's fine next time just add more yeast.
- 5
Get your pan or pot, put a generous amount of oil to fry the dough, make sure your heat is medium low because I was using gas my fatcakes were burning so they turn from golden brown to dark.
- 6
Fry your cake for about +- 5 minutes but if you can see sticky dough do not take it out until it fries thoroughly, keep turning it around so it fries all around, you can use a fork to poke inside to see if it is fried.
- 7
Have a bowl aside to put your fried cakes and use paper towel to dry the oil out.
- 8
Enjoy with some tea
