Ingredients

  • 1 cancanned fish
  • 1 tablespoonfish sauce
  • 2 tablespoonslime juice
  • 1 teaspoonchili powder
  • 2 tablespoonstoasted rice powder
  • 3shallots, sliced
  • 1 handfulgreen onions and cilantro
  • 1 handfulmint leaves
  • Vegetables of your choice for serving (cucumber, long beans, etc.)
  • Instant larb seasoning *for quick preparation*

Steps

  1. 1

    Pour the canned fish into a bowl, separating the fish from the sauce (you can add the sauce if you like, but personally, I find it too watery). Pour hot water over the fish to remove the sauce clinging to it.

  2. 2

    Drain the water and flake the fish to your desired texture, either coarse or fine.

  3. 3

    Season with fish sauce, lime juice, toasted rice powder, and chili powder. Taste and adjust as you like (if using instant larb seasoning, just mix it in).

  4. 4

    Add the sliced shallots, green onions, cilantro, and mint leaves, and mix well.

  5. 5

    Serve on a plate with your choice of vegetables.
