Ingredients

  1. Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  2. Fluffy Egyptian-style rice (about 2 cups cooked, 400 grams)
  3. piecesToasted pita bread
  4. Salt, to taste
  5. 1 teaspoonblack pepper
  6. 1 teaspoonshawarma spice blend
  7. 1 teaspoonground cinnamon
  8. Minced garlic, to taste
  9. Juice and zest of 1 lemon
  10. Juice of 1 orange
  11. Pickled cucumbers
  12. Jalapeño peppers
  13. Tahini
  14. Plain yogurt
  15. Vegetable oil for frying

Steps

    Slice the chicken breasts into strips.

  2. 2

    Marinate the chicken with salt, black pepper, shawarma spices, lemon juice and zest, orange juice, minced garlic, and oil. For best results, marinate overnight.

    Place the chicken on a baking sheet and roast in the oven until cooked through.

  4. 4

    Mix the tahini with yogurt, adding salt and lemon juice to taste.

  5. 5

    To assemble, layer the rice on a serving dish, top with the chicken, then drizzle with the tahini-yogurt sauce. Garnish with toasted pita bread pieces, pickled cucumbers, jalapeños, and nuts. Serve immediately.
