Cooking Instructions

Snake gourds are long and slender like a snake. They are unusual but can be quite tasty!

Cut the gourd into manageable lengths, peel, and slice diagonally into pieces about 1/4 inch thick.

If there are many seeds, press them out along with the white pith using your fingers.

Use block bacon.

Cut the bacon into pieces about 1/2 inch thick and wide. (See image for reference)

Stir-fry in a pan with a little oil. The bacon will release its own fat, so you only need a tiny bit of oil.

When the bacon starts to smell good, add the snake gourd and season with salt and pepper. Stir-fry together.

When the gourd becomes tender and turns a deeper green, it's done!

Serve on a plate and enjoy!

Tips
ベーコンに少し焦げ目が付くくらいが美味しいです。ヘビウリはアッサリ淡白なのでシンプルな味付けで美味しく頂けますよ♪塩胡椒の量はヘビウリの大きさやお好みで調整して下さい。
