Clean cut slice and core the apples. Since I used my apple corer, after I skinned it cut each slice of apple in half long way and then in the middle. I used sweet and tangy apples😃

Put in cold water with a little bit of vinegar or lemon to slow the browning process. Add slab (3tbsp) butter or ghee to a pan on medium heat let melt drain the apples and add apples,1/4c water,and all spices and the oats.

Let this cook covered (while checking) for about 10-15 minutes or until the apples are tender but not soft all the way through. Be sure not to let the apples totally dry up. Keep them moist with a tad bit of sauciness on the bottom.

Now the crunchy topping 😏 in a pan on medium heat spray the pan with oil or 1tsp oil of choice add the 1/2c oats stirring frequently add more oil if needed let them release the fragrance. When you smell them (may smell like almost burning but they’re not) add flour and stir with oats for about a minute. Add the seasonings.

Now the tricky part but don’t sweat it lol It’s time to add the slab of butter 1tsp or ghee which needs to be cold. Do not put the butter on the pan just on top of the oats. While I put my slab in I scrape the butter so pieces come off but the butter doesn’t melt. You want this part to be crumbly and not melted. After scraping the butter, u will see that the butter may be melting turn off heat. Time to plate 🍽️ Apples on the bottom of plate of choice n mixture on top.
